Looks like I will be picking up, in Newton MA, a new kayak (used .... new to me) kayak the Saturday after Thanksgiving.
Anyone want to paddle somewhere in the Boston area on that day?

Just cleaned, waxed and "winterized" my kayak until spring, or Florida, whichever comes first.

If you're picking your boat up at Charles River Kayak and Canoe you won't have to go far to find a nice place to paddle. Launch there, or across the river at the duck parking area (it used to be duck feeding area but they now frown upon feeding the ducks ... mainly mallards and Canada Geese), and head downstream through the lakes, a very scenic part of the river, especially considering its suburban location.

I hope you will have a dry, semi-dry, or wet suit. Its a serious consideration, especially in a new boat near the end of November.

Got a drysuit and I will paddle all winter. When the Hudson freezes over, I'll move to the LI sound.
