printing (publishing printing, not inkjet printing)

I'm toying with the idea of getting some cards made (like thank-you cards) from some of my pictures, folded top-to-bottom with a note on the back, and blank in the middle.

Has anyone out there done this? I'm not sure what kinds of stuff to ask for / watch out for, and I've gotten burned by a printing house before on something

I don't know about any place that does printing, but an alternative would be Photographer's Edge who makes very nice cards that you can insert prints into. They are much nicer than most cards of that type that I've seen.

I've gotten lots of compliments on the cards I make. The downside is they run around $1 a card (plus your cost for prints) which is a bit expensive.
