I’m doing a photo-essay on small stone churches. I know of two, one on the corner of route 3 and route 302 in Twin Mountain and the other just past the Mountain Washington Hotel. If you know of others would you mind posting. Thanks.

Newmarket has a famous stone church....On top of the highest hill downtown area[zion hill maybe?] here is a link http://www.stonechurchrocks.com/

This place is legendary.Bands that have played there include phish, blues trav.,groovechild, truffle and moon boot lover. You could at the least get some great outside pics.Newmarket is a very cool town[my favorite town in the seacoast area].Have fun with your endeavor....

Not in NH, but its kind of a cool one.

Old Stone Church in West Boylston, MA. On the banks of the Wachusett Reservoir which flooded the former town. Located at the intersection of 140/12 and 110.

The former episcopal church in Jefferson on RT 2 is a stone and timber structure, its at 900 presidential highway so you can check it out on google street view . Since it was purchased by some locals for an all faiths chapel, it looking a little worn.

There is also another stone church on upper main street in Berlin but its location and lack of setback from the surrounding buildings limits its visual appeal. (it doesnt appear to be on street view).

I used to live on Central Street. When I worked at the hardware store, I mixed the paint that went on the walls when they remodeled the Stone Church. That place is special. If you're doing photo-essay on stone churches you cannot miss this one.

The stone church in Berlin that peakbagger referred to is St. Barnabas (Episco)...you might be able to get it with historic St. Anne's in the background, and from the other direction, the new biomass plant going in (at least the left over chimney from the old Burgess Mill)...corner of High and Main Sts. shortly after the Berlin FD..

There is an old stone church on the way to Ferncroft in Wonalancet. I am unsure of the directions, anyone else know them?

Two in eastern NY that are only a few miles apart--both are on the western shore of Lake George:
* Helen Hughes Memorial Chapel at Silver Bay, NY: http://www.silverbay.org/index.php/spiritual_life
* Grace Memorial Chapel at Sabbath Day Point http://gracememorialchapel.org/ This chapel is on the National Register of Historic Places.

And near those churches is the Valley View Cemetery Chapel on Route 22 south of Ticonderoga. Can't find a website but here is a Flickr photo: http://www.flickr.com/photos/donshall/6620177501/

There's the now unused chapel on Lake Kanawauke in NY's Harriman State Park:
