Are the signs being removed by the DEC and replaced with red DEC trailmakers as on Donaldson and Emmons? Has there been a policy change?

The signs are being stolen and someone is putting the red DEC markers so there is something to mark the summits. The signs will be replaced but it takes a while for that to happen. I suppose if the signs keep being stolen, they may stop replacing them.
