Super steep ascent 2,000 ft in 1.5 miles to the Beaver Brook shelter (gorgeous overview). Icy w a bit of powder. We yak trax'd it with some slipping, microspikes ideal. Once at the trail to Moosilauke the trail evens out and 3-4 inches of fresh powder. Snowshoes not necessary, we jogged along the monorail. Above treeline was howling 70mph winds which blew us sideways, there was a white out early this morning at the peak but it cleared to blue skies within an hour. Trail to South Moosilauke in good shape w a bit of slick ice in the last 100 yards before the peak. Slid back down Beaver Brook to the car. Great day, beautiful trail.
