I have lived in Colorado now for three months. I have hiked quite a few 13000 foot summits which tend to be lightly traveled and quite scenic. After a month of heavy mountain biking I took the the trails on foot Last week I finally climbed a couple 14ers.
This particular climb is similar to a multi summit northern Presidential trip with 4600 feet of initial gain followed by another 1000 feet of total climbing reaching the other peaks. The biggest differences are you notice the thin air as you climb the steeper sections and more dramatic scenery.
If your interested you can read about it on my blog http://tomcatoutdoors.blogspot.com/2014/09/climbing-shavano-and-tabeguache.html
