From an environmental perspective, people are taking a biodegradable substance and placing it in a nonbiodegradable bag thinking they are somehow helping. If you arent going to take the bag, there's no point in bagging it. The plastic will still be in the woods and waterways for years to come. A bit ironic, eh?

It is ironic. Many of the bags sold nowadays for dog poop are biodegradable, thankfully.
 
Boy.... I don't know were you guys hike but I don't find that stuff at all.I mean at all...maybe you should change your hiking areas.. Don't invite me to do your areas...damn.
 
I use baggies around town. In the mountains, I treat my dogs poo like mine, just bury it. Just bringing plastic into the mountains is setting the stage for litter that will last for many year's.
