  • My pleasure - it was fun to be up there with you, even if only for the stretch from Baxter to the Saddle, and fun to hang out. Keep up the great hikes!
I did that hike last september with Grumpy Gram and Silverfox and it was a killer carspot! It was fun to say "we did a traverse of the Sandwich Wilderness".
I was thinking of doing WF/Pass/Sleepers/Tripyramids soon. I really like going up Dicey's and down Sabbaday.
Earl, thanks for the greenie. Hope we catch up really soon! It was an epic day for sure!!

That is correct, where the day started out great with just fog, then the temperature inversion, then the severe drop. I have pics of that day but none of when we met you guys near the tracks. Josh had never been to the Rock Pile, or even above treeline before, and it made his day to bag Washington in winter. The link to the pictures is here. We'll have to hike together again sometime, the Tri's hike was a great time as well.
No, it was from a hike Ian and I did on 2/16/08. Josh was also with us in March, but the picture is not from that hike.
Thanks for breaking out the trail. I was up there on Thursday with Hiker Ed and it was nice it was all broken out!
Looked like you had a fun hike to the Hancocks. I too have purchased a pair of the MSR's. I've only got to use them a couple of times near home. How do they support you in powder? Did you buy the tails? One of these days I'm going to answer one of your open calls. Been hiking some close to home, trying to get some conditioning back. Liz has made some progress, but it is slow. She's very frustrated. Hope to see you soon.
Happy Birthday ! You're in good company !

Hi Earl, Liz is not doing well. She had surgery 4 weeks ago and is still in pain. We had a second MRI this past Saturday. It revealed a small portion of the disc still pressing on the nerve. We have to assume the doctor missed it.
Hey Earl, Did you get your deer? I've been out with my bow. Passed on several does. Alot of nice bucks on the camera but all in the dark.
I expect BW'g to connect the dots like you did would come easy for someone who bags as many 4k's as you do. I envy your ability to get out as much as you do. Cheers!
Earl, What a great hike. When Liz and I did Liberty and Flume in June, I thought about that whack down to Owl's Head from that very spot. I coudn't find anyone interested. It is not the type of hike Liz would be intersted in so I dropped it.
Thanks for the Garfield TR green spot, Earl. My inspiration for detailed Trip Reports is, in fact, you -- your reports always contain terrific, useful information. Thanks!

    Very best,
    /Steve
