  • Thanks. Oh yes, Lauky was with me. It was very cold, but as long as we kept moving he did fine. As for making it look easy, once you reach the top of North Twin, the rest is not that hard. The link over from North Twin is surprisingly easy as it is never really steep, and once at the Galehead hut, you drop your pack and go up. On the other hand, getting up North Twin is work, but it is very beautiful right now.
thanks..you would have liked the Black Pond Bushwack and the Brutus on descent..Brutus on ascent was a little rough in spots as we got off line a bit but next time we will be going that way
Thanks for the green square. I'd like to get up Mount Success in the winter -- perhaps I can entice Mark (Silverfox) to do this hike and we can all go?
Thanks for the greenie. You wouldn't have been "grumpy" up there. The view with the undercast when I arrived was spectacular. Then when it all lifted the views of the valley were equally spectacular.
Thanks for the greenie and the comments. I knew with my GPS I could get through the Black Pond bushwhack alright, but I should have studied the map a little more before going. I can clearly see now a better route to take and I'll try it again sometime. The way I went was fun if not too practical. The 'fisherman's whack' on the other hand could have some real potential if it were broken out a bit more.
Thanks for the greenie! I'm just trying to share things with my kids, like my dad did with me. We need more young ones in the woods; someone has to carry us old folks out!
I did check my rep points and found the "cloud" you sent me for the doublehead post. Thanks Mary
You are back! Its official! Winter is OVER! Hope to hike with you and Finn soon! Any interest in NEHH or NHHH???
Hi Mary! I read your trip report today. Wish I had been with you all. I injured my achillies/soleus on Sandwich Dome on April 5th. I have been hiking short hikes weekly and I am seeing Bret Coapland twice a week. I should be as good as new after a few more visits. I hope to hike Hale next week with Claude. Hope to see you soon.
    Karen (Cymbidium)
Gran, I lost your email about our favorite patient. Could you please resend it to me??
    Thanks,
    Sabrina
    Thanks for the greenie, Mary!!!
I'm hoping to head for Pierce and Eisenhower this saturday -- wish me luck and good weather!! :)
