Check with Leaf, maybe? I know she climbs. Otherwise, you could throw a partner request out either in the ADK BBQ thread and/or the Nice Rack! social group and see if you can drum up some bizness.

I'm bummed that it looks like I can't make it. If you do end up climbing, and haven't done it already, take a look at Chapel Slab. We did the Regular Route (5.5 PG, 775') last weekend and it was a blast.

OMG, small world. Your mom was easily the most competent "secretary" the world has ever seen. Definately, over qualified. Boy did we miss her when we moved to Buffalo. She was still Terry Wolff at that time. I taught the science courses with Chris Tahk. Lived at 16 Elm Street. Ate lunch at the Shortstop and the Fish and Bike Shop. I left the department in 1993 and went to dental school.

So you grew up in Cooperstown. I lived there for a year and a half and was a professor at the Art Conservation Department of SUCO when it was located just North of NYSHA. From 1/86 to 7/87. I think of it fondly.

I've only been there twice -- once for a short pre-Presi Traverse training hike and once when I co-led an AMC Backcountry Nav clinic. (It was raining, so we stayed in the pavillion, mostly, and didn't venture outside too much.) The AMC is running a spate of family hikes over the summer/fall, one of which is at Sleeping Giant, so hopefully I can get there with my kids. I'd *really* like to go rock climbing there, however, as there are some classic Connecticut routes on the Giant...

J.Dub - I end up in New Haven every other week for work, and was at Sleeping Giant a couple weeks ago...cool place! Ever get over there?
