Trail is 99.99% snow and ice free. Very little mud suprisingly. This is a fantastic, 5-mile round trip hike that is extemely family friendly. The falls are gorgeous right now, with some snow and ice to the side of the falls still lingering. There is even an iceberg in the pool below the falls...

Family Friendly hikes near Lake Placid this time of year?

I'm headed to Lake Placid with a group of about 20 people and I'm wondering if there are any good short family-friendly day hikes in the area. 0-5 miles round-trip I'd say. Any other recommendations on what to see and do in this area or within an hour would also be helpful. Thanks!
