    "Bouldering" Glove

I can vouch for these as well. They recently served me well on a climb of the Upper Exum Ridge on the Grand Teton.

Seward, Donaldson and Emmons via Caulkins Brook (8/15/2016)

Dry to about midpoint on Calkins Brook herd path. Semi wet to the ridge. Muddy between peaks on the ridge. One can fly on the Calkins Brook herd path, it's in fantastic shape. Went up and back on Calkins Brook. Car to car for me was 7.5 hours.

    Rainier V2.0

Good stuff! I did the DC in Late May/Early June. Amazing place.

    Mahoosuc Traverse - 8/10/14

I remember driving (riding) from Burlington VT to Old Speck (leaving about 2AM), being still half in the bag when we left and then hungover when we started. I feel the Old Speck groggy-ness. On a different note- sounds like you had a great day!

Solo on Fletcher Mountain (13,951) - A Colorado Centennial Peak

The Colorado Centennials are the highest 100 peaks in Colorado. Fletcher Mountain (13,951) is ranked 60th on that list. For anyone interested, brief trip report and pictures of a quick solo excursion out there, as well as getting to see the beautiful Tenmile range just outside of...

New Hampshire 200 Highest and New Hampshire 300 Highest Lists

I remember when the NE3k list was impossible to get ones hands on. I thought I had struck gold when I got a copy. Anyway, awesome lists, thanks for compiling and making public for all! I've added them to the peak bagging app (see signature) for those who are using it.

    Mount Lindsey (14,042 feet), Colorado

Every day in the winter when I'm riding bowls in Vail or Breck or boarding in June on A-Basin I have to pinch myself, let alone the plethora of hiking/climbing/mountaineering options. Too bad REI now claims my paycheck. We were also planning on tagging Huerfano, but for obvious reasons had to...

    Mount Lindsey (14,042 feet), Colorado

I grew up in Vermont, and spending most of my time through my mid-20's climbing all over the Adirondacks and New England (and used this site through a chunk of that time). A few years ago (after a couple year layover in Dallas, Texas) I moved out to Denver to continue my pursuit of pushing...

Dealing with / avoiding altitude sickness (Utah)

Like anything mountaineering, the more educated/aware/prepared you are, combined with physical shape and being in tune with your body, the better chances you have as a successful summit. Plus, here in Colorado you can drive to the summit of two 14ers, run around, and see how you feel...

Dealing with / avoiding altitude sickness (Utah)

Absolutely not needed at 14k, not to mention in Utah you are not even getting to 14k, or even 13,500 unless you are going way out of your way. People that would require oxygen at a mid range elevation (Keystone for example) should not be attempting to climb 14k+ peaks anyway.

Dealing with / avoiding altitude sickness (Utah)

Actually, if your body is used to morning caffeine or a nightly drink you want to keep that routine. Your body will adjust better if its also not fighting lack of caffeine. If I was going to spend a month over 14k (i.e something like Denali) I probably would kick the caffeine habit long...

    Mt. Whitney

A helmet is smart to wear on the Mountaineers Route. This is NOT the standard walk-up route.

    Mt. Whitney

If your "hike" excludes the class 3 route (Mountaineers route), then you don't have to worry about being alone on the main Whitney trail. Enjoy!

    Mt. Whitney

Super straight forward hike on the Whitney Trail as mentioned above. I'd pack micro-spikes at least for the Mountaineers Route in September. Probably not needed, but I over prepare most of the time. Be sure to bring a helmet on that route.

Mount Frissell (and SW Shoulder - CT highpoint)

Date of Hike: 7/5/2014 Trail Conditions: Trail from Mt. Washington road is wet for the first few hundred yards (as in, wading through 6-7 inches of running water). Dry up to the summit of Round Mountain and over to Frissell summit. Highpoint of CT is just off the South side of Frissell...

    Peak Bagging Android App (Free)

Download Here I've built a free android app for anyone wanting to track their list progress, climbs and logs available for most android devices. You can download it from the app store. It currently is tracking over 100 lists - and I plan to add a lot of features going forward, so would love...

    Marcy to Gray herdpath

I was there last year in the summer. The path is not really developed, but relatively easy to follow if you keep your eyes on the ground the entire way. It does get a little thick in places, so wear long pants, long sleeves if your going. I've got some pictures here...

    Guadalupe Peak, TX

Thanks for the suggestions. I do plan on checking out Big Bend this year, probably this "winter". I'll be in VT for business in a couple weeks, and will get one day to keep plugging away at the ADK's, so right now I'm looking forward to that more than anything. I know the vertigo feeling...

    Guadalupe Peak, TX

I'm actually bummed - we were going to head to Carlsbad - but dinner plans in el Paso derailed the idea. Next time I'm in the area I will be checking it out. ...And getting the park passport stamp ;) As far as the peaks in that range, all I can say is wow. It did not feel like Texas in the...
