Took two days off work to hike the Rangeley-Stratton stretch of the A.T., with the objective of tagging seven of the eight NE111 that are along the way (or close to along the way).
As it turned out, this was a harder traverse than I'd thought, and we ended up skipping the side trip to Abraham for lack of time and energy. Still a beautiful and interesting outing, though. There were more thru-hikers out on this segment of trail these two days than 'regular' hikers, too. I guess that's the result of being in this area in late September when the main 'pulse' of thru-hikers come through this stretch.
Full trip report available here.
