Headed up to Mt Carrigain despite the ominous weather forecast yesterday. At fortune would have it it ended up being a beautiful day.

Headed up Signal Ridge Trail around 10am bare-booting. The two river crossings required some dexterity and rock hopping skills but we didn't end up getting that wet. The only other person we saw said he had had to remove his boots for both crossings. We risked it and made out o.k.

There were several major blow-downs blocking the trail but nothing that a little bushwacking around couldn't fix.

Hit snow at 3150 ft starting out fairly patchy. Gradually becoming steady ranging from 2-4 feet. Definitely could have used some snow-shoes but we risked it and we paid for it in lost time. We hit the summit at 3pm (5 hours going up) and ended up finishing at about 630.

Also I'd like to note that at about 4,000 feet, right after the ridge where the tower can be seen, there were a lot of footprints heading in almost every direction (all off-trail). It could have been a bit confusing if you are "in the zone," or following any of them. I assume it was either people bush-wacking or getting lost.

Great views once the clouds passed, even a few amazing rainbows as we had the tower to ourselves.
