Happy New Year!
Tramper Al, Ron, Meri, and myself hiked up Mendon Peak in Vermont on 12/22/07. We had to break most of the trail and the last mile was steep and every step we took towards the top we sank about 4 feet into the snow. We had to crawl on my knee's a few times to clear the pines.
When we were on top, we walked right by where the canister was, but the canister wasn't there. Ron and Meri were behind Al and myself and said they found it, as we scrambled to get out of the pines. We searched around the tree for the canister but we didn't find it.
It was an excellent hike with excellent company.
