That was one rocking time! Thanks to all who a) put up with me, b) practiced so hard, and played so well, and c) attended. I can honestly say that working toward this event was a big part of helping me toward my recovery. I'm not completely back yet, but if you look behind, you'll see me gaining ground in the distance!

MichaelJ: I can't wait to see the pics!

To those who missed it: there are some VFTT'ers with some SERIOUS musical talent! Hopefully, this was only chapter 1. I'm ready to do it again! That was the most fun I've had in ages!

Thanks to the Bluffs (in no particular order): FunkyFreddy, Gris, MadTownie, Mike Holt, SkiMom, Tall Andy, ChrisB, Ed "Dancing Bear" Keenan. To Donna and Alpinista: we missed ya!

Anyone ready for Bearly Live '07?

PS: I'm not worried that you know where we hang out. I think that is the point of all these things. The welcome mat is alway out.

Sherpa and The Band,

I loved playing the groupie, mellowed out all evening. The musical selections were perfect, and thanks to Steve (Caveman) for the best burger of my life, and to our hiking companions, and to the Maine State Police for the escort on Saturday. ;)

You are all so special.

Next time tell Freddy to play the entire Floyd album! Meddle is one of my favorite Floyd albums (I have them all (on cassette at least) and is a very underrated album.

To all, glad you all had a great time, like I said, waiting for the CD to be released! :) SherpaK, continue to heal, buddy, we all miss ya on those mountains!

How was the 'yaking? Wish I was up there in the water..

Jay

Wicked good time folks, if you missed it, well mark your calendar for '07. Ready? Heck Yea, can't wait! Thank you EVERYONE for the hospitality and generosity this weekend, this whole "family" of people truly are amazing.

Higlights:

- Getting lost on the way there, stopping (at 11:30 at night) by a random house that had people gathered on the back deck - not only was I handed shots and beers (and chocolate cake - yummy!), I was asked to pose in a group picture with all of them! At this point I knew this weekend was going to be a good one, not that I had doubts.

- Swimming in the lake at the top of Tumble....thanks for sharing such a special place Pat & Audrey.

- The band of course!

- My first kayaking experience, at night no less! And the fireworks were amazing....not to mention listening to the band from the middle of the lake, don't think it gets much cooler than that.

- Knocking off my first ME 4K (Old Speck) with Skimom and Arm...nice hike, great people to do it with.

Till the next one....

Steve

The new server is up! So far so good ... I hope. :D

Bearly Live '06 Photo Album

Let me know by PM if you think a lot of these look dark; it's the first set I've done with my new monitor, so I have no idea how well-calibrated it is.

MichaelJ: Well, now I know how you got up to 200 pics! Excellent - you really captured the weekend vibe. Thank you so much for the hard work in taking them, and getting them availabe for us to see, and relive the good times.

Can't wait for Bearly Live '07... might just have to do an '06a version...

Audrey: the State Police escort was due to a major drug bust in Byron (I think that was the town). 500-600 pot plants were confiscated, but they are still looking for the farmer. With out of state plates, driving in the same area, you stuck out like sore thumbs. I heard of this on Sunday morning. BTW, you can be our groupie anytime! Very happy that you and Pat (and everyone else) enjoyed our tunes!

I missed a good time.

Hope to make it next year...how much were the scalpers getting for tickets?

Puck: we heard rumors that tickets were being marked up 1000%, so the going rate was $0.00 x 1000% = $0.00, plus all the booze, food, and various other party favors that could be carried. We naturally had ample security to confiscate all contraband at the gate, to be distributed equitably to all festival attendees.

BTW, the good Doctor did make an appearance. That's what I'm carrying in the ski from the Shed at Stowe. Good times, good hikes, good paddling, good tunes. Until next time?

Yeah... well... I guess to quote UNFROZENCAVEMAN (who I don't know and currently HATE*) sure looks like "wicked good times"! The spirit comes through in all your words and pictures. Sorry to have missed good people, a rockin' time, the Dr. and 'equitably distributed contraband' ... oh, man!!

Some of my favorite people (and Steve*) to hang with ...and then out of the woodwork comes "Hammerdee" - Whoa!! He always shows up at the right times. Looks like SherpaK has improved noting an absence of leggings by the campfire. :) You all gotta do it again!

should I start with for "hating" you? The last one really did it!! ;)

Wow. Fantastic photos of the festivities, as well as one of my favorite areas (Tumbledown), Michael J!

Sherpa - You are an inspiration to all of us! If Bearly Live 07 happens, I will be sure to be there!

That was only because that stubborn Frenchman wasn't behaving himself! We made sure he wore them on Saturday night.

Missed you Bubba--you would have enjoyed it. ;)

I am so bummed out that I missed out! Maybe someday soon I'll get a life again and get a weekend off....

But, very glad you all had a great time! Rock on!

Very Special thanks to SK and Elle for having us!

Especially for putting up with me! :D It was quite an event and thanks to all of my bandmates for all of their hard work and to all who came to party and participate! I had a great time and the music, swimming, hiking, etc. was great. I wish I could do something like this every weekend....... I had a lot of fun playing with everyone!

Nice pictures, Michael :) It was great seeing so many VFTT'ers. Who is up for Bearly Live 07 ?

Thanks everyone for yet another wicked fun weekend! The band was incredible and the music was awesome! I'm looking forward to Barely Live 07 :)

Caveman, thanks so much for getting my car going on Sunday morning...that's the last time I venture out on my own without my husband...god forbid I leave home with out him again   Thankfully, all seems to be well with the car now.

Pat and Audrey thanks for the wonderful hikes on Pleasant Mnt and Tumbledown :)

Does this mean the band won't be wearing clothes next year

As I sat on the rock waching the sunset across the lake I tried to listen to the south. Couldn't hear the band, but I'm pretty sure I could feel the vibe. Count me and my bride in for next year!!
