Upper Boott Spur has 18" of snow with higher drifts. Above treeline the snow is still soft in spots. We took a look at descending Tuckerman Ravine Trail but decided we would die and a giant thread would be written about us.
So we went back up to the Alpine Garden trail and took that over to Lion Head, which was broken out by climbers below treeline.
We used snowshoes almost the whole time but wished for crampons in spots. We had microspikes but they would have been out of their element.
