Took advantage of unseasonably mild New Year's day temperatures to hike around the Clinton Land Trust land. No views, just a nice mellow forest walk. So different from on skis, which is how I usually travel back there. Trails wet but not too soggy, a pleasure in moccasins instead of boots. Some blowdown from Irene at one point on most trails, only a few of which were cleared. One stream I had to cross by going barefoot and wading, but that was off the land trust trails, to connect with a woods road behind my house. New skis for Christmas, now I'm just waiting for snow!
