Conditions: Camel's Hump Road is very muddy and there are numerous ruts. Our plan was to park at the end of the road (Burrows Trail-head), but we were force to park just down the road from the Forest City Trail-head due to the low clearance on our Dodge Neon. Higher clearance 4 wheel drive vehicles are required beyond this point.
The Burrows Trail was muddy in spots at lower elevations. After a few hundred feet of ascent the trail became a layer of packed snow. At this point we switched to microspikes for the added traction. We wore microspikes to the summit. There was a lot of ice on the middle section of the trail. There is still a couple feet of snow in spots, but as long as you stay on the packed trail it isn't a problem.
Equipment: I highly recommend some type of light traction, but saw several hikers managing without. We carried snowshoes the whole way, but never needed them. Great day on the summit!!
