Had a fantastic day (with a few minor moans) on Carter Dome on Saturday. Anyone who was out in the mountains will tell you what a great day it turned out to be despite a forecast calling for 'Mostly Cloudy'

I hope we get as nice weather as you! I see you got the best of the drifts up there in the Hight/Dome col. Those drifts, curling beautifully over many a spruce trap, turned me back on my first winter hike; it's good that the trail was footprint-marked for you.

PS - that's not a short signpost!

PPS - the "young man" is called Pulpit Rock.

Ivy will not be forgetting the snowshoes.

Not only am I not forgetting the snowshoes.... I'm planning on bringing the extra big variety with the hopes I won't sink to China under the weight of my overnight pack.
