Carter Dome and Mount Height
19 Mile Brook Trail, Carter Moria Trail (Stayed at Hut so returned the same way)
Date of Hike: 02/22/2014 (Saturday)
Trail Conditions: All trails were in good shape, 19 Mile Brook was starting to break up at some of the stream crossings, but they were easily hoppable. The trail up to Carter Dome was less well broken out, but after Saturday it should be well established. A note to butt sliders; the trail was thin enough that there were some rocks and stumps showing through. The trail was broken out to Zeta Pass and we broke trail up to Mount Height but not down the other side. Heard a report that the trail was broken out only to South Carter, but didn't go far enough to verify this.
Special Equipment Required: Wore snow shoes all the way. Conditions were unusually mild and even with the wind we did not need to cover up.
Comments: Excellent views and good company
