Date of Hike: 3/16/13
Trail: 19 Mile Brook and Zeta Pass
Trail Conditions: Nice firm solid snow pack
Special Equipment Required: Microspikes all day
Comments: What a beautiful day. Temperatures stayed below freezing, so no thaw on the trail. View from Carter Dome to Mt Washington was really good. Lots of snow covered trees on top of Carter Dome. Maybe 1 or 2 inches fresh snow below, about 4 inches on top. Trail to South Carter from Zeta Pass is firm, all packed, and in nice shape. Looked like some people went up Mt Hight - fresh tracks today. A curious pine marten checked out several of us at Zeta Pass - it kept it's distance, but stayed around watching us.
