waz good y'all,

i work at my local ems (greatest p/t job ever) and tried to plan a
store trip to the notch to get more peoples out in the winter and
unfortunately it's failed miserably. there was much interest of course
when we talked about it(hmmm, no more planning trips at the bar after work), so i booked spots for 4 people and now there's two of
us going so i have 2 extra spots each night paid for, $50 for amc
members, $56 if not.

this is the spot to cook up a nice steak, maybe fresh
mashed potatoes, bake a pie and pop a bottle of port. mmmm.....port.
every cooking implement known may also be found here.

the plan is hiking in to the hut and spending the rest of friday
exploring some ice caves and maybe venturing into the ramparts too.
saturday climbing carter dome and hight. and sunday hiking the wildcats
to the ski area and skiing back to pinkam on our miniskis.

sleds, boards, anything would work, although i assume the faster the
better. maybe trying to poach a mid mtn lift, i'm told they might not
be checkin' passes that high up?!?!??

if you have you own plans and just want the bunk spots that's all good too, i just don't wanna be out the $$$$$!!!

if anyone wants to go, please give me a holla, i'd like to meet y'all.

william

Sorry you are stuck with the extra spots- I will be at Cater Hut on Thursday and Friday night with 2 friends- we are planning on hiking Carter- Moriah trail (out and back to hut) to pick off more winter 4ks on Friday-
Look forward to meeting you on Friday and sharing some good food......

Just for your planning purposes, there is no mid-mountain lift anymore. There is less ticket checking on the Tomcat lift but it is still a risk... that one is north of the quad and goes about 3/4 of the way up
