Camped out 2 nights on base of Colvin. One can hike Blake as a day hike but we wanted to enjoy the Dacks for the three day weekend.

Used snowhoes only. Didn't need crampons or ice ax. Weather was perfect. Trail so well packed from previous hikers with snowshoes that the trail appeared as if someone shoveled a path to Blake. There were some very steep pitches on side going off of Colvin and up Blake where one has to be careful in maneuvering. We used a small section of rope which helped descending on a few spots. Several great butt sliding sections that were awesome fun.

"Snowpacker", my companion, completed his 46th Adirondack peak with Blake. Good going Pac!

Monday morn we woke to 2 inches of fresh snow and 2 very curious Pine Martens. Great hike. Love the Dacks.
