Trail Conditions: Bushwack from the south from Wiggle Brook Road. Broke trail to the summit. Deep snow with occasional crust at various snow levels. Large blow-downs in the ravine and thick fir on top.

Equipment:
Snowshoes and poles.

Comments:

We had scouted a south approach in 2008. Discovering Wiggle Brook was not plowed further than about 3 miles from Lincoln Pond Road (had been told 6 miles), and being of short memory, we decided to revisit the south approach to avoid a long road walk. We parked on Wiggle Brook where Wiggle Brook turns right and there is another, unnamed road straight ahead. Although the GPS said 6+ miles, it took us all day for this difficult bushwack. We encountered deep snow, steep terrain, blow-downs and thick fur growing so close only a ½ body could get through:rolleyes: Typical bushwack but one of the more difficult ones. With only 3 of us to break trail, we were tired at the end of the day but achieved our goal. I’d be interested to know if anyone else has done this route and enjoyed this wonderful experience!
