For those interested Flume Slide was in fine shape Fri. A few people had been out already so snow was compacted to make easy walking. I ascended in only micros and use a single ice tool to boulder around a bit on the steep sections but almost all of this could have been avoided if a person wanted to. Crampons would be helpful for some, I carried them but didnt need them. Mantling off a pole and using a single tool I made it up very quickly. Fun climb (hard work) but worth it as the lower section is so fast and this avoids backtracking if you want to do the Flume to Lafayette.

Most water crossings were easily navigated and there were a couple minor blowdowns

Special equipment: traction -essential [micros will work for some, others crampons would be necessary], poles - helpful, ice axe helpful [technical axe - fun but not essential. one with an adze for chopping steps if needed]

[Most of this could change after todays rain event. But for what its worth....]
