I need to purchase a pair of sunglasses for winter hiking and need some feedback on the subject. I looked at the Julbo Drus with the Spectron X6 lenses and the Julbo Micropore with the Alti Arc X8 lenses. Anyone have any experience with these (or others)? I'm leaning toward the Drus for the price and the polycarbonate lenses but I'm open to suggestion.

I have the Julbo Nomad http://www.backcountry.com/store/JUL0001/c3/s9/Julbo-Nomad-Sunglasses.html They were problem free on Rainier. Good, solid, comfortable fit with complete protection. They have a "Photochromatic lens" that adjusts to varyng light, and the side shields are removeable so you can wear them as regular sunglasses. They are only slightly more expensive than the Drus. I'm extremely happy with mine.

I have and used the Julbo Vermont:

It's no longer available, however, I like it in terms of it's functionality. Mine has the Sprecton X4 which is 87% light. The X6 is darker at 90%.

I have tried the alti chromatic ones (like the kind Tmax has) but I'm happy enough with the cheaper ones so far anyway. I scratch up my lens all the time anyway. You should see the Smith Slider SLs that I use for bike commuting. I'm glad those lens are replaceable!

Anyway, you kind of really want to try them on and better yet for a good amt of time. I have to adjust mine a bit cause the ear pieces thing seem to be adjusted too small, it causes pressure points on my ears that hurt if worn for a long time. And these have arms that wrap around the ear so the fit is kind of more important than most sunglasses.
