hammocks and pad
I have been camping with a hammock for 8 years now it is the best way to go by far!! I got mine cheap from wallmart the trick is make sure you get the double and not the single only weighs 1.5 pounds and off the ground. (when you get the hammock get the lose one without the rods on the end that hold it open) This also breaks down very easy and takes up very little rome in your back pack. I think I paid maybe 15-20 bucks for it and still in great shape.
For a pad I simply use a ridge rest, this is another reason to be sure you get the double hammock so you have plenty of space. I first bought a single and was way to tight and hard to sleep in with the pad.
