[We invite you to join the Adirondack Forty-Sixers , the Clark family, and the residents of Saranac Lake to honor Herbert K. Clark by placing a memorial stone to laud his achievement as Adirondack forty-sixer #1 at his gravesite. The ceremony will be at St. Bernard’s Cemetery in Saranac Lake. In case of rain the ceremony will be held at the Cantwell room at the Saranac Lake Free Library. This event will take place on May 26th 2013 at 10:00 a.m. There will be a short ceremony and presentations’ of replica climbing certificates to all the grandchildren and the unveiling of the memorial stone.

The gravesite was visited this past summer and it was noticed that there was nothing on his headstone mentioning his great achievement. Herb and the Marshall brother’s are truly historical figures in New York State and are held in the highest regards by the forty sixer organization. A proposal was presented to the executive committee to purchase a stone to honor Herb at our fall meeting. It was unanimously approved. .

Mayor Clyde Rabideau of Saranac Lake will declare that week Herbert K. Clark week in Saranac Lake. New York State Assemblyman Daniel Stec who’s district includes forty two of the forty six high peaks and Assemblywomen Janet Duprey who’s district includes the other four peaks will also be present. Many other guest and dignitaries have also been invited.
We look forward to you attending this event as the Adirondack Forty-Sixers pay tribute to Herbert K. Clark ADK. 46er #1.
