Date of Hike: 6/1/2013
Trail Conditions: Trail in excellent shape, much drier than I would have anticipated.
Special Equipment Required: Live hiker
Comments: Ever since reading Steve Smith's blog post COPPERMINE TRAIL: 5/2/12 I have wanted to visit Holden Falls. The story of their rediscovery is well told by Chris (NeoAkela) in his post Holden out for Noble - a Waterfall story. I have posted a photo at the (current) end of that thread, more are found here.
It is a short bushwhack, with no navigational issues if you figure out where the falls are. On the other hand, now I know why Viburnum lantanoides is called hobblebush
No biting insects in spite of high temps and no wind
Many cars at trailhead, large crowd at Bridal Veil Falls. No crowds at Holden Falls, though
