Ice, ice, and more ice.
Light traction very important, IMO. We saw some folks barebooting today, but it was a decidedly treacherous thing to attempt. My son wore microspikes from start to finish. I had the choice of full crampons or nothing, so I wore them above the waterfall and barebooted below. Just after taking them off on the way down, I took a nasty spill on an ice flow hidden beneath a dusting of powder, bruising my rib cage on a boulder & knocking the wind out of myself.
