Kinsmans by Fishin Jimmy -Snowshoes Found
No. and So. Kinsman by Fishin Jimmy and Kinsman Ridge Trail
Date of Hike: January 5, 2008
Trail Conditions: We broke trail from the Lonesome Lake Hut to the summit of So. Kinsman. Deep snow pack; In some places the blazes are 1 to 2 feet above the snowpack. No blowdowns to speak of.
Special Equipment Required: We wore snowshoes from the Lafayette campground to the So. Kinsman summit. The snow is too unconsolidated to bareboot. Of course, that didn't stop a group coming up behind us from trying.
Comments: Congrats to Brewster on winter no. 41 and 42. He worked hard on this trip.
I found a pair of snow shoes partially covered by snowdrifts. They don't look like they were ever worn. If they're yours, email me with make and model and I'll make arrangements to get them back to you.
