Trail Conditions: Since last weeks thaw, trail conditions are icy underneath varying levels of snow, 3-8 inches, as elevation increased so did the snow depth. Trail is clear of any blowdowns, ice bridges are good over small crossings.

Special Equipment Required: Approach; microspikes, as we gained elevation snowshoes were helpful as unfortunately there were some who postholed last week and of course with dropping temperature it froze poorly causing a member to almost get injured, they switched into snowshoes to bridge the covered, frozen leg traps!

Comments: Optional - Great day out in the Kinsmans! This was a plan B to KLincoln Lafeyette as the high summit forecast looked like it could be dicey up on the ridge. Fortunately/unfortunately, the clouds lifted and we had great views! Blue skies would have topped it off but that's okay, great company and great conditions, not too cold at all and the wind was pretty tame. Love this approach to the Kinsmans, hate Fishin Jimmy with a passion!
