Nothing too strange going on ... most blowdowns have been cleared post-Irene, but there is one big, complicated one with multiple spring-loaded pinned trees involved about 3/4 mile up from 118 that necessitates a short bushwhack around.
Trail is slippery with wet rocks & mud under deep layer of fallen beech leaves. A slick slab in Devils Gulch is hung with a very dubious aid line of frayed p-cord. I'd recommend against using it.
Dropped of a bale of wood shavings for the Spruce Ledge privy. Camp is in nice shape at present.
100% a nice hike, with the single exception of a pair of oblivious 20-somethings and their two entirely out-of-control dogs running far out of voice control and jumping and snapping at other hikers including children. I haven't come as close to using a hiking pole to harpoon a dog, or a dog owner, in many years. Idiots.
Another ~10-12 people on the trail today. Nice day to be out.
