:D Finally made the trip to MacNaughton on Saturday (9/25). Did the hike with a friend and his son. We did the trip from the LOJ as a day hike. The weather forcast was 50% chance of rain. We lucked out and only had a little mist once we got to the top and coming down. The rest of the day was dry. Perfect tempertures of mid fiftys. The hike to Walface Ponds was one of the nicest hikes I have done in the Adirondacks. The Indain Pass trail was in perfect condition. Had the bog area around around Walface, but nothing that wasn't easily delt with. Went to the end of the blue trail, followed the herd path to a low area at the base and then took a 240 degree compass heading and headed up. Some blow down but nothing that wasn't easily managed. Found one spot on the west side of the peak for some limited views. All and all a pretty good hike. Equipment: gators, compass (mandatory). Let somebody now where you are going as there is not much chance of running into anyone on this one. You would be rotted and gone befroe they ever found you!! Total time was 10 1/2 hours
