I was driving on Rte 3 early this morning a few miles west of Twin Mountain, when an oncoming car flashes his lights. "Hmm" I think. "What's his problem; I don't have my high beams on." And then I remember that sometimes drivers do that to warn you that there's a cop, an accident, or a moose up ahead. So I slow down some and keep my eyes peeled. Sure enough, there's Momma Moose standing by the other side of the road. I slow to a stop and see that she has her two kids in the undergrowth behind her. Then the whole family ambles off into the woods. I smiled for the next hour.
