Tried to hike Morgan-Percival loop in the Squam range today (4/18/2010). Got to the trailhead and found the gates locked, other parking lots roped off and big "Trails Closed" signs. The area is run by Squam Lakes Association, and they decided to close the area during the mud season. I just looked at their website (http://www.squamlakes.org/index.php) but don't see an 'opening date'. Maybe I missed it, or maybe they will post something when the trails open, but until then, be warned.
