Hiked Moriah via Rattle River Trail, Kenduskeag Trail and Carter-Moriah Trail

This ended up being last minute plan B - had grand plans of a loop with Webster Cliff and Dry River Trails, but found out early this morning that Dry River Trail is closed ...

Rattle River up to the shelter is in good shape. I missed the first river crossing about 1/10th mile above the shelter and spent about 10 minutes on the wrong side of the river looking for the trail - there are absolutely no white blazes in this area (just scattered spray painted red ones) - it could really use some well-placed blazes or a sign pointing you to the crossing. From there to the ridge headed up, the blazes are very scattered, and there were about 10 step-overs and walk-arounds - nothing impassible by any means. There are a few areas of narrow trailbed above the crossings with new erosion from last weekend - stable today, but be careful.

Kenduskeag was in decent shape - most of the bog bridges aren't submerged, but a few stretches in the middle of the section could use some brushing - got pretty wet going through the wet branches this morning. Trail sign at junction with Carter-Moriah is broken and leaning against a tree.

Hannah had a good day - cool temps, tons of water and mud every where, and lots of critters to scamper after. She didn't have any trouble with the large ledges just below the summit but some dogs might.

No views today as everything up high was in the clouds. Started after the morning showers, trails wet but no more rain. As always, a great day for a hike!
