Parked in upper parking lot next to the bottling station.
Hiked up road toward pump house to the Cold Springs Trail, no one had been on the trail since I was there on Saturday. Broke trail in snow anywhere from 10" to 24" due to drifts, average of 12" of snow.
Broke trail to Faraway Mountain trail, we turned right and head toward Oak Ridge cut off again no traffic on this trail. On the Oak Ridge cut off someone had broken trail the day before so decided to head up to ridge, in less then a 1/3 of mile they turned around. We broke trail to ridge to see what the conditions we like, due to time of day turned around and continued on Turtleback Mountain Trail, this trail had been broke out the day before.
Headed back to car, what a great day, not to cold, or warm, no wind. lots of animal tracks to been seen. There is now at least 6 miles of broken trail. Thanks Jordan for your company and assisting with trail breaking.
