Mount Washington
Ammonoosuc Ravine Trail / Crawford Path / Mount Washington / Trinity Heights Connector / Gulfside Trail / Jewell Trail
Date of Hike: 12/14/2013 (Saturday)
Trail Conditions: Ammonoosuc Ravine Trail - serious sections of steep ice from approximately 4,000 feet elevation to Lake of the Clouds Hut, Crawford Path - rocky sections with ice and light snow mixed in, Gulfside Trail - mostly very rocky with a few icy sections before junction with Westside Trail, Jewell Trail - deep sections of snow throughout trail above treeline, a few blowdowns (including a big one obscuring the footbridge) below treeline.
Special Equipment Required: Crampons essential. All gear/clothing for low temperatures and high winds necessary.
Comments: Very cold, but mild winds and great views all day (with a bonus rainbow approaching Lake of the Clouds Hut) . Photos/video (and eventually a trip report) can be found here http://brian03104.blogspot.com/2013/12/12142013-mount-washington.html
