Monday September 8th 2008.
Hiked up Ammonusuc Ravine Trail to the Lake of the Clouds Hut, then across the Crawford Path to Washington. From there, the Gulfside trail to the Jewell Trail and back to the hiker parking lot on the Base Road.
Trails were free of blowdowns, Ammonusuc was easily negotiable, though steep, the ledges were dry making it easy enough to do. From the hut to the summit of Washington conditions were dry rocks with winds 45 mph and visibility about 100 yards.
Windbreakers, hats, gloves and fleece layers were all needed this day.
Sandi's first time on the rock pile, she did awesome!
