Mt Adams 11-11-10

Attempted Mt. Adams yesterday. Took the Air Line from the North rt. 2 parking area. Trail was muddy but generally easy going until alpine zone. Didn't see anybody all day, and for good reason. Above tree level the ridge portion of the trail was completely covered in thick ice. (Was a rainy night 2 nights ago) I had to turn back half way through the knife edge before Gulfside. I had micros but really needed crampons or just to avoid the trail all together until snow comes.
