Mt. Carrigain via Sawyer River Rd and Signal Ridge Tr. 11 March 2012.
Slushy snow to the junction, then soft snow on the ascent.
I used snowshoes the entire time. Didn't see many people, but those that were out seemed to be barebooting, sometimes switching to snowshoes for stretches.
Stream crossings definitely losing snow bridges, lots of water gurgling, and open water.
First stream crossing at least one person had postholed through. Later stream crossings were open, but water levels were low so crossing on rocks/logs was easy and unrisky.
With all the continued warm temps and rain, this report may be obsolete soon.
Comments: Saw some redpolls at the summit.
