With only one day off (Thursday) and cold temps predicted, I wasn't sure I was going to get out with my dog. I tend to err on the side of caution in regard to my dogs' feet. Having worked till midnight, my plan was to roll out of bed, throw all my gear in the car, yell for the dog and hit the road. I figured if I got to the trailhead at 1100am, it might be warm enough. Given the late morning, I hit the lakes region and decided on the way up, to check out Mt. Israel. I stepped out of the car to a balmy 19 degrees and let out a yahoo and told Shay it was on. We were greeted with a solid track that took Hillshound pros like Jesus invented them. We made a quick 2.4 hour car to car trek and it turned out to be a fantastic day in the woods. Shay grabbed #22 on his third round of the 52wav list. Our plan to be halfway to 52 by New Years eve is looking good. Back out Monday and Tuesday next week.
