trails: jewell trail, gulfside trail, mt. jefferson loop trail

conditions: plowed parking in the usual spot at the cog base. up to treeline the jewell trail was mostly just a light coating to a few inches of snow over rock and ground. not much ice of note. above treeline it had a mix of rock and powder snow with rime and some occasional hard ice. gulfside more of the same bony conditions with a few more significant patches of ice, but still surprisingly good going. same thing on the loop trail to the summit.

equipment: most of our group was wearing the hillsound version of microspikes which were just about perfect for todays conditions.

comments: great pre storm hike to jefferson. conditions on the ground were much better than i had expected with regards to ice. very little of any significance. nice temps. winds were relatively mild except for right on the summit of jefferson and in a few spots on the hike back across the ridge. awesome hike with a great group of folks.
