Date of Hike: Tuesday, May 28th

Trails: Castle Trail, Gulfside, Randolph Path, Grey Knob, Lowe's Path

Trail Conditions:
Wet; the first crossing was up to my mid thighs - made for a cold wake up call this morning. Castle trail was nice and fun, mostly dry. There is still ample snow of course, starting at around 3k, and expect cover / slush over 4k. Thought about heading down the Israel Ridge, but wasn't sure the water crossings would be fun. So instead I decided to head over to Lowe's Path; ended up taking Randolph Path instead of trekking up to Thunderstorm Junction and catching Lowe's there. Ended up breaking trail for all of the Randolph section over to the Grey Knob trail, and then broke that out for a little ways. There is snow cover but it is generally not that deep, and fading fast.

Special Equipment: none, aside from boots with good traction. Snowshoes or other traction like trail crampons could be handy at a few spots.

Comments: It's really fun out right now so long as you're careful - the ice and snow up around 4k does a good job keeping the bugs at bay. Expect to see weather from all seasons.
