Trail Conditions: The trail is in good shape. A few blow downs that are easy to get over. Lots of dry leaves on the trail made things slippery.

Special Equipment Required: Bug spray, camera, sun glasses for ledges.

Comments: I decided to find some solitude and hiked up Mt. Meader and bag a 52 with a view. Only saw four people who were hiking the ridge when I got to the trail intersection. The first mile of the trail is a forest road. Lots of bugs until the waterfall cutoff. The second mile is easy with fewer bugs. The third mile is where all the climbing takes place on a series of switchbacks then straight through the woods and across ledges. Several spots have nice views.

Mt. Meader summit has no views, but about 1/2 mile south is a view point that has a nice view of North Baldface. Also, at around mile 1.8 on the trail I think there's a couple pileated woodpeckers. I didn't see them, but heard their call and heavy knocking on the trees.
