Mt Misery Loop via Patchaug Trail & Nehantic Trail (~5 miles)
Patchaug Trail east from Rte 138 trailhead near Rte 201.
Turn left (north/west) on Nehantic Trail, right on Cutoff Road (Gravel), right (west) on Patchaug/Nehantic Trail to summit Mt Misery and continue, turn left (west) to continue on Patchaug Trail and return to trailhead
Date of Hike: Sunday 3/1/09
Trail Conditions: small patches of snow* and ice on otherwise fairly firm ground. just a little mud and soft dirt near stream & brook crossings. Easy walkin
Special Equipment Required: trekking shoes worked fine, no poles, no pack
Comments: Good day for quick jaunt up Mt Misery & back. Great weather, visibility great

**Note - we got ~8-12" new snow Sunday nite & Monday 3/1-3/2 so until it melts expect VERY different conditions! Probably a beautiful hike in unbroken trail up Mt Misery!
