Date of Hike: Sat., 8/20/11
Followed the Downes Brook trail from the Kanc to the col between Whiteface and Sleeper, Sleeper trail to the summit. We were a group of 9 -- the 9 & 13 YO boys kept right up on those 20 stream crossings up & back. The Downes Brook was beautiful -- one of the best walks in the woods! Had lunch on the lesser summit to get the hazy view. This is a great alternative for those who would like to avoid the ledges on the Blueberry Ledge Trail. An easy 12 miles.
