Braved the blustery weather to nab these easy peaks. Crescent Mt. trail was a firm groove all the way up, coulda done it without snowshoes. Snowshoers had broken a bushwhack track to the true summit, even.
The Crescent Ridge Trail to Randolph, though, hadn't been broken out, but the snowshoeing was easy, 4-10" of light snow over a frozen base. Located Randolph's high point north of the trail easily. On the descent, the Carlton Notch Trail was punctured by moose post holes, but the snow was firm enough that paralleling the perforated trail wasn't difficult. Over the course of the seven mile loop there may have been a half dozen blowdowns but none were a problem. Blue sky showed up just after I reached the car.
